About SafeTurn Locksmith — Chicago's Family-Owned Locksmith Since 2009
SafeTurn Locksmith started in 2009 with one van, one toolbox, and a founder who was tired of watching neighbors get overcharged for a simple lockout. Fifteen years later, we're a full shop at 4218 W Fullerton Ave with a fleet of dispatched vans, but the promise hasn't changed: show up fast, do the job right, and charge exactly what we quoted.
Founder Ray Kowalski grew up in Belmont Cragin and apprenticed under a retiring locksmith on Milwaukee Avenue before striking out on his own. What began as a single mobile lockout service slowly grew into full residential, automotive, and commercial locksmith work as word spread through the neighborhood — then across the North and West Sides, and eventually into the western suburbs. Ray still takes emergency calls himself when the shop is slammed, and every technician he's hired since has been trained to treat a customer's home, car, or business the way they'd want their own family treated.
